Job Description
The Assiniboine Rotary Club and the Friends of the Living Prairie Museum are looking to hire up to five individuals (dependent on funding) under the Urban Green Team and Canada Summer Jobs programs to help maintain rare tall-grass prairie habitat.
PROJECT LOCATION: Living Prairie Museum, 2795 Ness Avenue, Winnipeg MB.
PROJECT/JOB DESCRIPTION: The Living Prairie Museum is a 12 ha tall-grass prairie preserve with an interpretive centre. The preserve serves as a living museum and offers an opportunity to experience rare habitat in an urban area. The preserve area, native seed plots, and interpretive centre are maintained regularly, and interpretive programming and events occur on-site throughout the summer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the removal of invasive plants to protect endangered habitat
• Participate in seed collection and plant propagation activities
• Engage in management activities that may include sheep grazing or pollinator habitat
• Maintain a hiking trail
• Assist with special event promotion and delivery, and interpretive programs when required
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Applicants must be 15-29 years of age to qualify
• Enrollment in post-secondary education with specialization in Environmental Studies/Science, Biology, Ecology, Horticulture or related field is an asset
• Interest and general knowledge of Winnipeg's natural areas
• Willingness to work outdoors (under adverse conditions, at times)
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Self-motivated and reliable WAGE: $15.30 per hour + 4% vacation pay
ANTICIPATED TERM:
Primarily weekdays, late-May to August 31st, 2023

Job Description
This 10 week term position is available for a young adult (under the age of 30) who would like to gain experience and mentorship working in a church environment. Working with appropriate staff this individual would brainstorm, plan, and execute activities and events for kids, teens, and young adults that encourage them to build new relationships in a safe space and help them grow in their character and spiritual development. This individual will also help lead a week of evening children's programming in August.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
-Planning and Promotion. The Summer Events Coordinator will plan event details, including schedules, registration, programming, and budgeting, and communicate those details with the community, church, and families of kids and teens.
-Execution. The Summer Events Coordinator will collaborate with appropriate staff to determine what roles you will oversee and lead during activities and events. They will also be prepared and present for activities and events.
-Administration. The Summer Events Coordinator will utilize Microsoft Office and Breeze Church Management database software in the planning and implementing processes.

One Hope Canada is currently seeking a servant leader to join our team as a Director of Discipleship at Monarch Bible Camp in the Haliburton/Kawartha Region of Ontario.
One Hope Canada exists to present the Gospel particularly to those with the least opportunity to hear of Christ, especially to children and youth, and we disciple believers for living and serving through His church. The Director of Discipleship is entrusted with fulfilling the purpose of One Hope Canada within their camp, and is responsible for making connections, building relationships, mentoring, and discipling campers and children/youth in the community on a year round basis. The Director of Discipleship fulfills these responsibilities at the camp by assisting the Ministry Director with leading a team of summer missionaries.
The Director of Discipleship is responsible for working with and reporting to the Ministry Director and the Ontario Field Director. As a part of the One Hope Canada team, you have access to the Ministry Resource Centre, all resources provided by One Hope Canada, and a team across the country consisting of over 200 other year round missionaries.
