For New Students
In recognition of the ongoing economic and community impacts resulting from the pandemic, and in attempts to ensure as many students as possible receive scholarship funds, CMU will be choosing 10 undergraduate students to receive the $1,000 CMU Spring Scholarship for their studies at CMU in the upcoming academic year. Applications for these scholarships will be accepted between March 1 and June 30. New students (Canadian) with no previous CMU scholarship offers are eligible to apply.
To qualify:
- Must be a Canadian citizen or Canadian permanent resident
- Received a conditional admit or admit decision before June 30
- Have not received any CMU scholarship offers prior to submitting a Spring Scholarship application
To apply:
- Find the CMU Spring Scholarship on your Application Portal and apply
- Write and upload a 500-word reflection essay on your involvement with a community (school, church, neighbourhood, etc.), with significant focus on how the experience impacted and challenged you on a personal level
The reflection should be centered around (but is not limited to) one of the following contexts:
- Involvement in a social justice initiative
- A specific effort to draw diverse peoples into connection and relationship
- Involvement in supporting an underserved population, group or individual
- An academic project which connected you to an activity in your community, church or school
