Students in this professional program complete a minimum of 120 credit hours in course work, at least 90 of which relate directly to Business and Organizational Administration. Student may study for a specialization in Business Management, Accounting, Not for Profit, Human Resources, or Social Entrepreneurship, with an additional area program in International Business. This program also offers students a distinctive benefit in that it includes a practicum component, wherein students will have the opportunity to get on-the-ground experience in their specialized field of interest.

Students in the Redekop School of Business benefit from a program designed for optimal experience along with the academics. Getting involved means that a student will have access to volunteer opportunities, networking experience, workshops for skill development, and one on one mentoring/coaching to enhance their program pathway.

Some students decide that opting in to the co-op program is one way of getting the entry level experience needed to propel them forward at the time of graduation, and allow them to earn the funds needed to pay for academic studies while they are studying rather than accumulating debt.

Both the three-year and the four-year Bachelor of Arts with a major in Business and Organizational Administration provide the breadth of a liberal arts degree. With exposure to the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, a business student will have a well-rounded degree to prepare them for opportunities in business organizations, family businesses, or not-for-profit organizations.

CMU students benefit from complimentary programs in International Development Studies, Communications and Media, and Conflict Transformation. Students also have the distinct advantage in that all programs include a practicum, which requires at least 120 hours of work experience in a setting relating to business and organizational administration in their area of interest.

Optimizing your studies with a major in Business and Organizational Administration within the four-year Bachelor of Arts, will gain a student the benefit of specializing in an area of business that will enhance their readiness for the workplace. Many students know that a degree in Business will open doors, but as they continue their studies, they realize that specializing means they may be able to work in an area related to their specific interests. An example of this would be for a student in Management with an interest in human resources, but more specifically in the area of managing conflict or mediation. A fourth year of study allows a student to hone their learning, skills, and practice for the workplace.

Another advantage of the four-year Bachelor of Arts with a major in Business and Organizational Administration is its flexibility. A student completes a major of at least 48 credit hours, but still has ample space within the program to expand their repertoire of skills and knowledge by drawing on areas like Peace and Conflict Transformation Studies, International Development Studies, Communications and Media, Music, English, or Biblical and Theological Studies.

The minor requires only 18 credit hours and can fit alongside a major in any field, whether in the three-year or the four-year Bachelor of Arts. Through a minor in Business and Organizational Administration a student can gain valuable secondary competencies, applicable in almost any vocation.
