Returning Student Scholarship Application
Deadline: March 5
Returning Student Scholarships are awarded to students who have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours of university credit, including one of Introduction to International Development or Introduction to Conflict Resolution Studies. Candidates must have attained a minimum GPA of 2.5 to 3.0 (depending on the scholarship) and officially declared a major in Conflict Resolution Studies or International Development Studies.
To be eligible for consideration for one of our Returning Student Scholarships, the student must submit:
- A completed application form
- A copy of your unofficial UWinnipeg transcript (downloaded from WebAdvisor)
- A short (1/2-1 page, approximately 250-500 words) essay outlining:
- leadership experience
- school and community involvements
- academic and career goals
- other relevant information
- ONE letter of reference (all applicants) or TWO letters of reference (if applying for the Ivan Esau Leadership Scholarship) from a former teacher, supervisor, mentor, etc. (emailed to financialaid:@:cmu.ca)
Those who have already received an MSC award for the 2024/25 year will not be eligible to apply.
Bursary Application

To be eligible for consideration, the student must submit:
- A completed application form
- A copy of your unofficial UWinnipeg transcript (downloaded from WebAdvisor)
- A short (1/2-1 page, approximately 250-500 words) essay outlining:
- academic and career goals
- leadership experience
- community involvement
- other relevant information
- A letter of reference from a Menno Simons College professor (emailed to financialaid:@:cmu.ca)
Those who have already received an MSC award for the 2024/25 year will not be eligible to apply.
