Discover CMU
"Before arriving in Canada, I felt a bit apprehensive about attending a predominantly white university. I created negative scenarios in my head as to what my experience could look like. However, CMU quickly became my home away from home. Living on campus and participating in social gatherings helped me push away my shell and make friends with people who enhanced the entire experience for me. The staff and faculty were also very helpful and welcoming, which helped me strip off another layer. Even though there were challenges that showed up in different ways, my experience at CMU was a good one and I don't regret making that choice."

"At CMU, we have found people who have cared for us not only academically, but also on a personal level. Living here among people of different cultures has been an excellent experience for our daughters. The professors have been patient and motivating, and a diversity of opinions and experiences is something that is welcomed in the classroom. The staff at CMU have quickly become part of our family."
– Jose Morega Diaz
"I had no expectations coming to CMU because this was not in my initial plan, yet I was welcomed by the sense of friendliness that is uncommon elsewhere. Despite the scale of our school, it seems like we are constantly working on something more significant than ourselves. Most decisions are made with the consideration of an individual to best accommodate everyone. There will always be someone to talk to if you feel lost. Community plays a crucial role in fostering self-growth and individuality, which is characteristic of the university."

"The CMU community was very welcoming. They were more than ready to help me adjust and help me out as I started a new life in Canada. Students and faculty are very friendly in the way they approach international students, they are eager to know about your culture and teach you about theirs. International students are encouraged and welcomed to be involved in any of the events and activities that CMU offers. There is an international student committee which plans a great number of activities such as bonfires, barbecues, visits to the zoo, soccer games, and a dinner at the end of the year"
