Tour Details
Preparation
All participants are invited to read a selection of readings prior to departure. A reading list and website resources will be provided for those who register.
Physical Fitness
Participants will be expected to be in excellent physical condition. You will need to hike 15 to 20 kilometers per day on five of the 20 days, and shorter distances on remaining days. Hiking will include a range of fairly strenuous terrains and elevations. Participation in the tour depends on being able to walk briskly for a good long while. Getting ready at home is advised!
Recommendation: Prepare for the tour by walking at least an hour a day for three or four weeks prior to departure.
Baggage
We recommended that you take a maximum of one piece of checked luggage. You will occasionally need to carry your own baggage (although porterage is included at the hotels). Your leaders will have carry-on luggage only.
