Winnipeg and Victoria Beach are the places Jane Gateson calls home, each for 6 months of the year. She has studios on the Assiniboine River and by Lake Winnipeg. Jane has had solo exhibitions in Winnipeg and rural Manitoba and has participated in juried group shows in Canada and the U.S. Her works are in government and private collections in Canada and Europe.

After completing her BScHEc, she majored in art in her BEd degree. She has participated in many art courses over the 30 years she has been painting.

Jane's art is both large and small – and eclectic, as are the media she uses – oil and cold wax, acrylics, resists, fabric and collage done on paper, canvas, or wood panels.
