Contemporary Painting for Adults

This 8-week course will explore contemporary themes, styles and experimentation with acrylic paint. Students will be encouraged to create their own originals by combining a variety of painting techniques and references. Every class will begin with a short exercise, highlighting fundamentals of painting such as colour mixing, colour theory, composition, perspective, layering, editing, etc. Students are expected to bring their own materials, which will be communicated before start of class. All skill levels welcome.

Classes take place inside the MHC Gallery. The second floor studio has staircase access only.

Drawing Instruction for Adults

Drawing Instruction for Adults

This 8-week course will focus on the practice of drawing while experimenting with a number of drawing materials and mixed media. We will work to develop our observation skills and applying those to some basic techniques and fundamentals of drawing. We will practice drawing from memory, from still life and from photo references. Individuals will be expected to provide their own materials (sketch pad and various mediums). This class is open to all skill levels.

Classes take place inside the MHC Gallery. The second floor studio has staircase access only.
