Workshop #1: Dr. Joel Thiessen, Associate Professor of Sociology, Ambrose University
Keynote follow up: Dr. Joel Thiessen – What is the context for religion in Canada today, and what does it mean for church communicators and church-related non-profit organizations? What do the trends mean for giving? A chance to explore these issues more in-depth and to ask questions.
Workshop #2: Gayle Goossen, Creative Director, Barefoot Creative (Kitchener, ON) Acquiring and keeping new donors – Inspiring Canadians to do good through stories (rather than content marketing). What does it mean to approach audiences by interest not age demographics, ie. justice, food, popular culture.
Workshop #3: Meghan Mast, multimedia storyteller with Mennonite Central Committee "The truth about stories is, that's all we are," said writer Thomas King. So, what makes a good story? And how can non-profit organizations tell stories that compel people to care? In this workshop Meghan Mast will cover the elements of good storytelling and, using examples, talk about how to choose the right medium for your message.
Workshop #4: Student Career PanelWhat does the future hold for young people beginning a career in the media? Trev Schellenberg - Program Director for Goldenwest Radio (Steinbach), Anne Skrynsky - General Sales Manager, Bell Media Winnipeg, and Carl DeGurse - Assistant City Editor, Winnipeg Free Press.

Workshop #6: Media Relations Panel What are some of the most effective ways of reaching out to the media in this day and age? Doug Anderson of Goldenwest Radio, Paul Samyn of the Winnipeg Free Press, and Karen Mitchell from CTV News Winnipeg.
Workshop #7: Tech Tools for Cause-driven Campaigns Case study of Steve Bell/Freedom Road and other cause-driven, web-driven initiatives that explore how online/mobile tools are harnessed effectively to move people to action.
