Faculty Position: Social Work

Full-Time, Salaried, with Benefits

CMU invites applications from candidates for a full-time faculty position (open-rank, professor or teaching professor) in Social Work.

We are particularly interested in applicants who reflect one or more of the following priorities:

The successful candidate will join CMU’s social work and broader faculty, together building and delivering CMU’s exciting new social work program–an exceptional opportunity for creative and engaged teacher-scholars.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, and will be actively engaged with research in social work.

Social work at CMU builds on the strong, interdisciplinary foundation of CMU’s larger teaching-and-research environment, with such distinctive areas of excellence as music therapy, political studies, peace and conflict transformation studies, and spiritual care.

The appointment will begin July 1, 2025. Rank (assistant, associate, or full) and appointment type (professor or teaching-professor) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
